Cardinals Receiving Trade Interest in Marquise Brown

With a busy trade deadline ahead, the Arizona Cardinals are reportedly looking to keep Marquise Brown in the desert.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are one of a handful of teams circled as potential sellers ahead of the league's Oct. 31 trade deadline.

Given the team's rebuilding efforts in the offseason and poor record through six weeks of play, names such as TE Zach Ertz and WR Marquise Brown have been rumored names on the trade market.

Brown - set to play out the remaining year of his rookie contract before hitting free agency in 2024 - is reportedly gaining interest from other teams around the league.

The Athletic's Diana Russini dove into recent trade speculation and offered the following on Brown despite the organization reportedly wanting to keep him.

"The Arizona Cardinals have received calls on wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, but the team isn’t looking to move him. Brown is both healthy and productive right now and looks to be part of this team’s future. Remember, the Cardinals have six picks in the first three rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft. They have plenty of draft capital."

Thus far, Brown has caught 29 of 53 targets for 334 yards and three touchdowns on the season, leading the Cardinals in every major receiving category.

Brown was previously asked about trade speculation but said he didn't hear it:

"I didn't see that," Brown told reporters back in Week 5.

"That's not my focus. My focus is on the Bengals. I'm a Cardinal - so that's really all I'm worried about."

Arizona has receivers such as Michael Wilson and Rondale Moore behind Brown on the depth chart.

It's also notable that Brown is best friends with QB Kyler Murray, who was recently designated to return from the PUP list after tearing his ACL last season. Should the Cardinals plan to keep Murray around for the long haul, it's probably wise to keep his favorite target in the mix, too.

According to Over The Cap, the Cardinals are currently slated to have around $66 million in cap space next offseason.

It's believed Brown would fetch a third-round pick from other teams across the league looking to add a talented wideout.
