Report: DeAndre Hopkins 'Open' to Play With Deshaun Watson, Browns

Former Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins could be heading to Cleveland.

Speculation on where former Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins will play next continues to build in the days following his release from the club. Hopkins often found himself in trade rumors, but nothing materialized.

So - here we are in the final week of May, and now one of the most talented receivers in football will have his team of choosing for 2023.

There's been no shortage of teams linked to Hopkins. Powerhouses such as the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills best suit Hopkins and his chase for a Super Bowl ring, though it could be a familiar face that brings his talents to the Cleveland Browns according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

"Fowler further mentioned that the Browns could be another viable option for Hopkins, saying he 'senses' that Hopkins will be open to playing with [Deshaun] Watson once again," said Dov Kleiman. "While the Browns may not be considered major contenders in the pursuit of Hopkins, they could be seen as a 'dark horse' in the race."

This isn't the first time this has been mentioned - Watson himself spoke on the issue earlier this offseason on "The Q With Quincy Avery" podcast.

"It just really depends on if it's serious or not, as far as if we can really get him," said Watson.

"You got to be able to look [at] overall. Cap space, trade, different things like that. Talk to the coaches, being able to see like 'alright this is something serious, it can happen' … then you just kind of communicate with him, nothing too serious. Me and D-Hop actually been friends for awhile. We're actually gonna be in the same area this weekend, so we're gonna chop it up and see where things [are] … nothing's guaranteed. You just kind of let it flow from there.

"That's something that you got to be able to look at overall; cap space, trade and different things like that. You know, talk to the coaches, being able to see like alright this is something serious that can really happen."

Hopkins was a difficult trade target for teams considering his $19.45 million salary, and even on the open market, he reportedly is still looking for a huge payday.

Whether that's in Cleveland - or elsewhere - it feels like anything is on the table for Hopkins.
