One Cardinals Free Agent Signing Might Not Make Roster

The Arizona Cardinals signed CB Rashad Fenton this offseason - but will he make the final roster?

The Arizona Cardinals are mostly done with their offseason moves, though a few stragglers could be picked up along the way. Though nothing is concrete, it's already fairly easy to tell who is part of the team's core and who could be on the border of being cut.

According to Bleacher Report, that could be cornerback Rashad Fenton in Arizona:

"In four NFL seasons, Rashad Fenton has produced 127 tackles in 49 games. He joined the Cardinals this March but might not be in the desert for long. Arizona re-signed Antonio Hamilton and drafted Garrett Williams and Kei'Trel Clark, while Christian Matthew and Kris Boyd have value on special teams that could make Fenton expendable."

Though the Cardinals lost Byron Murphy to free agency, they did manage to add two rookies to the mix, though Williams (who is recovering from a torn ACL) and Clark (a Day 3 pick) shouldn't be counted on as starters right away.

The Cardinals will look to Marco Wilson and Antonio Hamilton to anchor down the defensive backfield, with Isaiah Simmons potentially playing a role depending on what new head coach Jonathan Gannon and defensive coordinator Nick Rallis want to do with him.

PFF Coverage Grades for Arizona's Current CB Room:

Antonio Hamilton: 69.4

Kris Boyd: 63.2

Marco Wilson: 61.2

Nate Hairston: 60

Rashad Fenton: 56.2

Christian Matthew: 48.7

Fenton (26-years-old) entered the league as a sixth-round pick in 2019 by the Kansas City Chiefs. He was traded to the Atlanta Falcons last season.
