Chargers Looking To This Former All-Pro to Lead OL

In this story:
The Los Angeles Chargers have a huge responsibility on their shoulders this season and its ultimately going to come down to ensuring whether or not Justin Herbert will have all the tools he needs to become a top-three quarterback in the league.
And yes, the stakes are going to be higher for him than other young QB's in the league right now such as Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts considering that LA disappointed heavily in the playoffs last season and have a lot to prove to re-establish themselves in the league.
But beyond that, the AFC West still definitely belongs to the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs and they are led by the best QB in the NFL right now: Patrick Mahomes. Herbert is going to run it back with two WR's he's known his entire career in Mike Williams and Keenan Allen but will also have a new option thanks to the addition of TCU's Quentin Johnston.
"Shoutout to my mom. She's putting in her two weeks notice today. She retired."

The moment Quentin Johnston was drafted No. 21 by the Chargers is everything ❤️

However. above just pass-catching, it's super crucial that the Bolts have a solid offensive line that does not just allow defenders to break through and make life rough on Herbert in 2023.
Trey Pipkins was resigned by the front office for this very reason and as he looked ahead to how he'll help the squad succeed this year, he pointed towards the value that teammate Corey Linsley will bring.
This is a perfect example of how valuable Corey Linsley is. #Chargers miss a pass pro pickup on Rashaan Evans (No. 54) up the middle. Linsley sees it, slides and gets enough of a piece of Evans to save Justin Herbert a hit. Linsley's awareness is just next level. pic.twitter.com/APoZSaPx49

"It’s huge. Any time you can have [a] veteran like Corey [Linsley], who’s been through so much," said Pipkins. "Has been to multiple Pro Bowls, all of that type of stuff, he can teach you so much about the game, about succeeding in the way that you want to succeed and helping you out in your own personal game. Even though he doesn’t play tackle or anything like that, the knowledge he has about the game is great. He helps a ton."

This should all be music to Herbert's ears.
