Chargers Rumors: Superstar College Coach Has Already Met With LA Multiple Times

From the CFP to LA?

It's been just three weeks since your Los Angeles Chargers lost 63-21 to the Las Vegas Raiders which ultimately ended up in the team electing to let head coach Brandon Staley go.

As the Chargers are on the search for a new head coach, it appears that they have already met with Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and already have begun working on a deal.

Although the Chargers may have a deal in place with Harbaugh, due to the NFL's Rooney rule, they would still have to interview other candidates to abide by the rule.

However, if the Chargers can hire Harbaugh and bring him back to the NFL, it could be a franchise-altering move that could help bring LA back to relevancy and could not only make them the top team in the AFC West but in the entire NFL.

Per Adam Schefter on ESPN's The Pat McAfee Show, he stated that an NFL contract offer could be enticing for Harbaugh if the offer is up his alley.

Throughout his coaching career, Harbaugh has been a proven winner wherever he's gone. In 2005 and 2006, Harbaugh led the University of San Diego to glory as the PFL champions. Then going on to help revive Stanford from 2007-2010. In 2011, Harbaugh left to coach the San Francisco 49ers and led them to a Super Bowl in 2013. Now, Harbaugh is on a quest to lead his former college, the University of Michigan to its first National Championship victory for the first time since 1997.

If Harbaugh were to leave Michigan for LA, it could be another challenge for him to lead a team that is in the darkest of days right now despite having plenty of talent across the board on offense and defense, including quarterback Justin Herbert who is coming off an incredible year despite what the Chargers record might show.
