It can be argued that the Los Angeles Chargers could have been home to two of the best wide receivers in the NFL if it was not for injuries. Both Mike Williams and Keenan Allen have seen a ton of success playing with both Philip Rivers and Justin Herbert.

However, they have developed reputations of not always being to play full seasons and they are both getting up there in age now. With the recent selection of Quentin Johnston in the 2023 NFL Draft, he is obviously going to be groomed as the future of the team at that position.

Now don't get me wrong. Allen and Williams have been there as Herbert's primary passing targets since he came into the league and that will not change in 2023. Newest offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is going to have a good time implementing a new system within this team and they'll be big parts of it.

But Allen is only locked up for two more seasons while Williams is for three so could they be on their last stretch with the Bolts?

However, 'Locked On Chargers' podcast hosts Daniel Wade and David Droegemeier believe that Johnston was brought in to help both of the veteran WR's rather than replace them.

"I think Quentin Johnston brings a skillset to the table that is different than either one of those two receivers," said Droegemeier. "Keenan Allen's release packages are nasty, he understands everything that's going on. He has that connection already, that chemistry with Justin Herbert. And Mike Williams, he's the big body and Quentin Johnston also has good size. But he's not really your go up and get it."

It would sting a ton to see either of these guys leave the franchise but it will not happen anytime soon at least.
