Woods is dealing with an illness, and for this reason, was limited during team practices throughout the week, but has since been ruled out.
This hampers the Chargers' depth in the secondary, where they're already a bit depleted.
Safety Raheem Layne and cornerback Amechi Uzodinma have been on injured reserve, which, combined with the trade of former starting cornerback J.C. Jackson, has put the Bolts down three defensive backs that were on the original 53-man roster.
Woods should be expected back for the Bolts' Sunday Night affair with the 8-3 Ravens next week.
