Your Los Angeles Chargers entered their Week 14 game against the Denver Broncos today with some hope for better play. They narrowly escaped with a 6-0 win last week (over the  lowly New England Patriots, but still), and had a chance to keep their slim playoff hopes alive if they could string some more positive results together to close the season out.

But we saw more of the same from the Bolts, and they dropped the game to the Broncos by a score of 24-7. It was a poor effort from this team all around, but nothing new from this team if you've been paying attention all season.

Adding insult to injury (or should we say injury to insult?), quarterback Justin Herbert left the game with an ailment and didn't return. His status moving forward is questionable, but with the way the season has gone, it may be better to sit him moving forward.

Before leaving the game, Herbert went 9-of-17 while throwing for 96 yards and one interception. The offense was bad all game long and had no answer for the Broncos defense.

Rookie wide receiver Quentin Johnston was one of the long bright spots, putting up three catches for 91 yards. He was able to break away from the Denver secondary multiple times for big gains

The lone score of the game for Los Angeles came from running back Austin Ekeler, who ran in a touchdown during garbage time. He finished the game putting up 51 rushing yards on 10 carries.

It's been an awful year for the Bolts, and things are getting bleaker each week. The end is likely near for head coach Brandon Staley, and maybe, just maybe the team can start to build themselves back up.
