Chargers News: Bolts HC Target Jim Harbaugh Hires NFL Agent

Does this mean nothing, something, or everything?

The Los Angeles Chargers are near the end of this dreadful 2023 season. Nothing went right for them; the injuries piled up like crazy, and the poor play from both sides of the ball was consistently nonexistent, resulting in the firing of head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco.

With those firings happening, the Chargers will look for the right men for the job, and one name that has been mentioned more times than not is Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh has been linked to LA for some time now, and recent news regarding the coach may mean something about potentially coming back to the NFL.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Harbaugh has hired football agent Don Yee to represent him.

Yee represents the likes of future Hall of Famer Tom Brady and Broncos head coach Sean Payton. Does this now mean Harbaugh is geared up to come back to coach the NFL? Who knows.

One thing is certain, though: making that move right now is oddly suspicious. We may be reaching here, but the potential addition of Jim is palpable as LA needs to make a big splash in head coach.

According to A to Z Sports, Harbaugh has the best odds of becoming the Bolts' new head coach at +200. Following Harbaugh is Patriots head coach Bill Belichick at +300 and Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson at +400.

Currently, the Michigan head coach is focused on leading his team to the College Football National Championship as they look for a win over the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl. A lot is on his plate, but once he is done with this season, whether it ends in defeat or victory, LA will be on his tail to try and convince him to coach his former NFL team.

The Chargers and their fans will be on pins and needles once the search starts.
