Chargers News: Hall of Fame QB Credits Kellen Moore for Justin Herbert's Growth
Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was brought into the Chargers organization to help make sure their offense ran as smoothly as possible this season. Los Angeles had some weird lapses last season where they would go long periods of time without scoring, and it cost them during the postseason.
In addition, Moore was supposed to help star quarterback Justin Herbert grow more as a passer, and so far, he has done just that. Herbert looks more confident in the pocket and isn't committing as many turnovers as usual, either.
It has been a great pairing thus far, and the hope is that it continues to grow over time. One former Hall-of-Fame quarterback has seen this from Herbert this season and credits Moore for helping him.
“Herbert is playing fantastic, and I think Kellen Moore has had a lot to do with that,” said ESPN “Monday Night Football” analyst Troy Aikman. “He’s getting the ball down the field more than what I recall in the past.

Herbert and this Chargers offense has looked more in sync this season, and it has been because of the offensive schemes put into place by Moore. He likes using multiple sets to confuse the defense, and Herbert has looked more comfortable in the system over time.
“For Kellen to get to land in a place and have a quarterback like Justin Herbert, there’s a lot of coaches in the league that would have jumped at that one. So it’s been a good fit. It’s been a really good fit for Kellen, for sure.”

If the Chargers can get their defense to step up, they could finally be the team they hoped to be entering the season. They currently sit at 2-2 on the year and are getting ready to take on the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.
