Chargers News: Justin Herbert Apologizes To O-Line For Spike Vs Green Bay

In this story:
The Los Angeles Chargers will look to bounce back in a big way this Sunday in prime time when they take on the current number-two seed in the AFC, the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens will look to improve to 9-3 while spoiling the Chargers hopes and dreams of reaching the postseason.
Conversely, the Chargers will look to get back on the winning track of things and get back in the hunt picture for the postseason. A lot is at stake in this Week 12 matchup, and when it comes down to it, all eyes will be on LA's star quarterback Justin Herbert. It starts and ends with Herbert for the Powder Blue; he's paid like a top-tier quarterback and needs to perform like one, week in and week out.
Thus far, he's played like it, but he has been coming up short. A costly penalty last week resulted in the loss to the Green Bay Packers. It was the first time in quite a long time we saw Herbert visibly show emotion on the football field, spiking the ball out of frustration and yelling at his center Will Clapp. Herbert said that he apologized to Clapp and his offensive line for his outburst.
"Football is an emotional game. It got the best of me. I apologized to Will [Clapp]. I apologized to the O-Line for that outburst of frustration. I have to do a better job of getting the call in earlier, go through our reads. Whether I am killing the play or whether I’m keeping it up, we just have to have a faster pace of play out there."

The emotions get the best of people at times, and although it was kind of Herbert to apologize, sometimes you react the only way you can, and that was the case on that critical delay of game penalty.
However, Chargers head coach Brandon Staley understood where Herbert came from and loved what he saw from his Pro Bowl QB.
That’s a great thing. It’s just a competitor out there competing. He and Will [Clapp] are tight. There’s a lot that goes on out there in the game. There’s no one that cares more than Justin. love seeing that.

I loved seeing this from Herbert, and if he makes him play better, then we need to see more of this from the gunslinger.
