Majority of the returning players for the Los Angeles Chargers this season have grown to be able to speak on their 2022 playoff disappointment against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was one of the more surprising meltdowns in recent history and the worst way they could have ended the year.

Nonetheless, they had to move on and made a slew of changes in their roster and coaching to come back even better in 2023. Tom Lombardi was sent on his way after being unable to lead the team to any offense in the second half of that wild card game and Kellen Moore was hired in his place.

The main offensive core will also be returning with more experience and a lot of vengeance to fuel them. They were subject to watching their biggest division rival, Kansas City Chiefs, win yet another Super Bowl and they want to prove that they can take over the AFC West.

As for defense, Khalil Mack and Eric Kendricks will lead the way on the defensive line. A returning J.C. Jackson will also go a long way if he's healthy and Derwin James will also take care of business at the safety position.

Mack has been one of the multiple veterans on LA that has been present at their early voluntary OTA's as he hopes to instill the team's culture into them early.

The 32-year-old LB also touched on what the team's mental state is looking like now that they are months removed from their playoff loss to the Jaguars. He highlighted one good thing that came out of it.

"The only positive thing about it is that it was last year, last season," Mack told reporters Monday. "Have a lot more to look forward to, knowing where the potential is and all of that, which is neither here nor there."

Even though we do not want them to dwell on their failures, they need to continue carrying that feeling on their shoulders this year.
