Chargers News: Why LA Has An Inside Track On Dallas’ Offense This Week

Familiar faces come to town.

The Chargers; next matchup will be a familiar foe for the team's new offensive coordinator, whom they signed this offseason.

Bolts' play-caller Kellen Moore welcomes his old team next Monday night as the Cowboys seek revenge on one of their own to close out week 6 in primetime.

Of course, Moore was more than just an offensive coordinator during his Cowboys tenure. He was a backup quarterback, quarterbacks coach, Dak Prescott whisperer and offensive coordinator. At some point, the offensive philosophy didn’t mesh with what coach Mike McCarthy wanted. To review, the Cowboys led the NFL in yards twice (2019, 2021) under Moore and finished in the top five in points three times. With the Chargers, Moore’s offense is eighth, averaging 5.8 yards per play and seventh in points at 27.5 per game. If there’s anyone that knows how to attack Dan Quinn’s defense, it’s Moore

Dallas received a punch in the mouth thanks to a 42-10 embarrassment at the hands of San Francisco in their Week 5 contest last Sunday night.

What many viewed as a litmus test between two NFC contenders quickly turned into a laugher by the start of the third quarter.

Prescott threw three interceptions, and Dan Quinn's vaunted defensive unit lost not just the game but plenty of players due to injury.

LA should be well rested after their rollercoaster start to the season, resulting in a 2-2 record despite some questionable decisions, thanks to head coach Brandon Staley.

Moore's offense also gets back Austin Ekeler from his ankle injury, which sidelined him for the past three weeks.

Justin Herbert's finger remains a concern, but one of his best weapons back in the fold should make victory more attainable as LA seeks a winning record for the first time in 2023.
