The Los Angeles Chargers opened their season with a loss to the Miami Dolphins at home. It was another reminder that they have some work to do if they want to put themselves into the elite category across the NFL.

But luckily for them, it was just one week. They also made some mistakes that, if they can fix, things should get better. And they get another chance to redeem themselves this weekend as they head on the road to face the Tennessee Titans.

One of the leaders on the defensive side of the ball for Bolts wants to use this as a motivation game. Derwin James Jr. spoke about his excitement to return to the field Sunday.

“Can’t wait for Sunday,” James said. “I don’t want to get up here and talk about it. Can’t wait for Sunday to show you.”

The defense didn't show up against the Dolphins, but they will have theoretically an easier time with the Titans. While Tennessee does have some offensive weapons, they aren't on the same level as Miami on offense.

The Chargers can't overlook the Titans at all because if they do, they'll suffer their third straight loss dating back to Week 18 in 2022. But they can use their frustration from the past weekend to help fuel them forward.

“We’re pissed off,” safety Alohi Gilman said. “None of us like how that went down.”

The Bolts can't afford to go down 0-2 in the loaded AFC Conference, so this game is extremely important. It would put them behind the eight-ball against another AFC team as well.

“It was eye opening for us on defense,” safety Derwin James Jr. said. “It definitely woke a lot of us up.”

They need to come in focused and ready to go. Week one is in the past, and now they have a chance to right the wrongs that took place. Now, let's see if they can do just that.
