Coming into the 2023 NFL season, the expectations for the Los Angeles Chargers are mixed depending on who you ask. Some experts believe that they did what they needed to do during free agency and the recent draft and are poised to fight for the top spot in the AFC West.

However, there are others that believe they will not be able to bounce back from their disappointing outing against the Jacksonville Jaguars and will not be able to go the full mile. Let's start with the basics here.

One of the biggest problems the Chargers had on their team last season is gone now with the firing of Joe Lombardi. In his place now comes Kellen Moore as offensive coordinator and when you tie together that he'll be overseeing a healthy Justin Herbert with a number of passing options, it should be quite the show in SoFi Stadium this season.

However, Bleacher Report released their early odds for the winners of the 2023 Super Bowl and gave the Bolts just a 3 percent chance to take it all.

Their experts believe that a conference headlined by the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals will be too much for an LA squad still looking to find their place in the league.

"Herbert's had some big moments early in his career for a Bolts team that won 10 games in a tough division last year and has always given the mighty Chiefs plenty of trouble. It's possible last year's collapse was a learning experience that will make Brandon Staley, Herbert and the rest of that team better. But the competition is still pretty damn steep in that division and conference, and it's hard to give these guys the benefit of the doubt at this point."

This is a whole new year and even if the world doesn't believe in the Chargers, they just have to believe in themselves.
