It could truly be argued that in the 2000's, we have been able to witness the best generation of quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL. With the likes Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers all dominating their competition during these past years, they have set the precedent for being a great QB very high.

However, times have changed and we have already seen those of legends hang up their cleats with Rodgers getting up there as well. Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals have seen themselves skyrocket to the top of the rankings in that QB spot and rightfully so. They have proven they can lead their teams to the promised land in recent seasons.

Obviously, they have completely shattered previous labels of "upcoming stars" that they used to have but which players are next up after the? Look no further than the Los Angeles Chargers' own Justin Herbert. He made his impact immediately, totaling the most yards thrown and total touchdowns in his first three seasons in NFL history.

However, fans also look to Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 23-yearold threw for over 4,000 yards and connected on 25 touchdowns in just his second year in the league. Therefore, NFL fans sparked a heated a debate on Twitter when discussing which QB they would select to lead their team for the next ten years.

Herbert does have more experience in the league and that is a key reason why his supporters opted with him. He has had the time to get comfortable and learn from any struggles.

They also compared stats from both of their rookie seasons.

A good amount of fans in this thread also chose Lawrence as the QB of their future. They had a great arguing point in that his team in undefeated whenever he's faced Herbert and the Chargers. Lawrence also lead the Jaguars to a 27-point comeback win against LA last season and captured something that Herbert doesn't have: a playoff win.
