The Los Angeles Chargers continue to prove to be very active as of now when it comes to improving their roster even after the 2023 NFL Draft and initial free agency period. And this is exactly what fans want to see as organized team activities are not set to begin until later in the month.

There are still currently a number of free agents on the market that have yet to find a new home and could be targets as LA. Marcus Peters and Cameron Fleming have been floated as potential targets for the Bolts still as they look to make their group as strong as possible.

However, Ezekiel Elliott remains one of the more interesting names on the list and he's been rumored to join the Chargers ever since the start of free agency. His best years are obviously behind him but seeing former offensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys, Kellen Moore, has got to be intriguing for him.

His 876 rushing yards in 2022 were the least he had posted in a season since he first came into the NFL but luckily for him, he won't be asked to take the ball in a ton of plays.

LA has been putting together an elite squad on the offensive side of the ball and with Justin Herbert at the throne, Zeke's responsibilities won't be anything crazy. SportsNaut's Matt Johnson suggested the perfect role for the 27-year-old RB.

"Austin Ekeler is likely staying with the Los Angeles Chargers, but he’s not a goal-line back and the franchise didn’t add one in the 2023 NFL Draft. Despite having some of the best talent in the NFL, Los Angeles ranked 18th in red-zone touchdown rate (54.55 percent) last season."

"Ekeler is best utilized as an offensive weapon, providing Justin Herbert with a pass-catching threat underneath to make plays. It creates a clear opening for Elliott to fill a role in the Chargers’ offense, providing him with ample opportunities to score touchdowns and he can reunite with Kellen Moore."

There is still plenty of time for this to come true, keep an eye out!
