Chargers News: Brandon Staley Counting On Season's Second Half To Save Bolts... And Possibly His Job

In this story:
Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley has been one of the biggest talking points for the team, and not because of his success as the coach of the team. He has been on the hot seat for some time now, and he entered the year in the position.
Now as the Chargers go through their season, the struggles have continued for this team. Just when they seem to gain any momentum, something goes wrong, and it all falls backward again.
Staley is hoping that the best is yet to come from his team, and unless it actually happens, his job is very much in jeopardy.
“A big thing that we’ve been emphasizing is just the finish in our football team,” he said, “and finding our best here down the stretch.”
Per Brandon Staley via The LA Times
Staley seems to be the likely move to make if the Chargers can't turn things around, but people have been calling for his job for a while now. Oftentimes, he seems in over his head, and it has shown with his decisions on the football field.
Staley was hired years ago for his defensive mind, but the Chargers have struggled on that side of the ball since he was brought in. It's been a cruel fate of irony for this franchise, but this season it's been more apparent than ever.
"Ten-and-a-half months later, Staley is facing daily ridicule that’s emphasizing he might be finished. From New Year’s Day to Thanksgiving week, Staley’s Chargers have been foiled by a questionable decision, a historic playoff meltdown and a defense that’s become increasingly difficult to defend."
Per Jeff Miller of The LA Times
It's been a frustrating year all around for the Bolts, and one that could see them miss the postseason. If that happens, Staley is all but gone, and it may be the best thing for the organization at this point.
