Chargers News: LA WR Talks 1st TD Since 2022 ACL Tear

In this story:
While the Los Angeles Chargers didn’t get the win last weekend over the Detroit Lions, they did have some feel-good moments in the game. One of which came from wide receiver Jalen Guyton, who scored his first touchdown in over a year.
He missed the majority of last season, and the first part of this year after tearing his ACL last September. It was a battle for him to return to just the practice field, but it was all worth it as he crossed the goal line against Detroit.
Guyton spoke about scoring the touchdown, and he knows how much this one means to him after what he went through.
“The feeling was priceless,” said Guyton, a five-year NFL veteran with seven career touchdowns. “It was such a long time in coming. I think, you know, one of the things that makes it the sweetest is how much work you put in since the last time you were out there and just to get back (on the field), you know what I’m saying?”
Per Jalen Guyton via The OC Register
Guyton has been a solid contributor for the Chargers since being drafted years ago, so this was a great moment. His hard work to return paid off, and it was a special feeling for him all the way through.
"There was much cause for celebration and plenty of reasons for relief when Guyton caught a laser that quarterback Justin Herbert fired past two defenders and into his teammate’s waiting hands for an 18-yard touchdown in the third quarter of the Chargers’ 41-38 loss to the Detroit Lions."
Per Elliott Teaford of The OC Register
This was his second game back from injury, and he has already made a difference to this Chargers offense. He has four catches for 41 yards and one score in his limited time.
The chemistry between him and quarterback Justin Herbert has been great, and it just shows what they were missing to start the season. Hopefully, he can continue to build off this performance, and the Bolts offense can keep going stronger.
