Despite there being a slew of elite running back talent in the 2023 draft such as Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs, many fans of the Chargers have been predicting that the franchise will opt for a more seasoned option if Austin Ekeler gets traded.

However, Ekeler himself has said that his contract situation may take a while and everybody is starting to get used to the fact that he may just run it back with Los Angeles for another season. That means the front office is less likely to secure a big-name RB still on the market as they would likely be asking for a big role.

This could definitely be why Ezekiel Elliott, who was linked to the Chargers after his release from the Cleveland Browns, reportedly revealed his top teams to sign with and the Bolts were non-existent.

The news was first reported by Adam Schefter of the NFL.

"Cowboys’ RB Ezekiel Elliott has narrowed down his options about where to play to the Eagles, Jets and Bengals, and he would like to make his decision about where to sign by the end of next week, per sources."

Elliott is coming off of a season that saw him push for over 800 yards with 12 touchdowns and 17 receptions. While they are nowhere near the number that landed him on the first team All-Pro back in 2016, he is still a very solid option at the RB position.

The market for his position is pretty rough right now so the payday won't be anything crazy but I could definitely see him joining the New York Jets. Considering they are the favorite to land Aaron Rodgers, they will have to part ways with some key talent. Brining in Elliott will ensure they have experience and he could take pressure off of Rodgers some plays.

As for your Chargers, I believe they'll be fine without Elliott. He was never aa priority for them once they hit the market and if they believed he would help tremendously, he likely would have been paid by them already.
