The Indianapolis Colts (7-6) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6) face off at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday in a matchup of two teams taking things one week at a time and clinging dearly to their postseason lives.

Before the game, the Colts ruled out right tackle Braden Smith (knee) and running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) on Thursday and then downgraded linebacker Segun Olubi (hip) from questionable to out on Friday.

For the Steelers, quarterback Kenny Pickett has been ruled out due to an ankle injury. Offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo (shoulder) entered the weekend as questionable.

Here are both teams' lists of inactive players.

  • DT Adetomiwa Adebawore
  • CB Tony Brown
  • DE Isaiah Land
  • WR Isaiah McKenzie
  • OT Braden Smith (knee)
  • LB Segun Olubi (hip)
  • RB Jonathan Taylor (thumb)

Smith will miss his sixth game of the season and once again be replaced by Blake Freeland. The rookie has seen action in 12 games this season, starting 6 and playing 542 snaps on offense and 17 snaps on special teams. According to PFF, Freeland has a 65.2 grade in run blocking and a 40.4 in pass blocking after allowing 30 QB pressures (26 hurries, 2 hits, 2 sacks). He's also been penalized 4 times.

Taylor will now miss his third consecutive game following thumb surgery, which puts Zack Moss back in the forefront. With 923 yards from scrimmage and 6 touchdowns this season while having to start 7 games in Taylor's absence, Moss already established himself as one of the NFL's more productive running backs for 2023.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in pretty good shape health-wise, aside from their starting quarterback Kenny Pickett being out with an ankle injury. Replacing him is veteran Mitch Trubisky making his second start of the season and fourth overall appearance.
