Commanders Fans React to 'Best Scenario' After Dan Snyder Sale

Dan Snyder selling the Washington Commanders has fans feeling ecstatic.

Sportico set social media ablaze with its report that Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder has agreed to a sale of the franchise to a group led by Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Josh Harris.

After years of anticipation, the Commanders are on the verge of having new owners and while the deal is far from done coach Ron Rivera and fans alike are feeling the weight beginning to lift.

One YouTube viewer commented, "This is the best scenario available. Yes, (Jeff) Bezos is ridiculously rich, but he would come with a circus of his own. At least these guys have experience running a professional sports program."

Harris' group has been widely considered as the favorite to land the winning bid but until recently many expected Bezos to come in with a strong effort to buy the team closer to the deadline.

Of course, several fans turned to gif usage to express their pleasure from the news.

While some kept their reactions rather simple, like another commenter who said, "Magic on the sideline. Sweet."

Even though he's likely to come in as a minority partner in the deal, the star power NBA legend Earvin 'Magic' Johnson brings to the group is undeniable.

With his current minority ownership experience with the MLB's Los Angeles Dodgers, Johnson has been on record as wanting a Super Bowl ring to go with his NBA Championship and World Series rings.

That desire to win from this group is something that attracts fans to it just as much as simply ridding the franchise of the dark cloud that's resided overhead for more than two decades.

The deal is far from done, and if we've learned anything covering Washington football over the years it's that nothing should be counted before it becomes official.

But the last hope for Snyder to do something that receives wide-spread praise from Commanders fans upon his exit would be to finalize the agreed-upon deal that has clearly made so many fans more hopeful for the future than they have been in quite some time.
