The Washington Commanders host the New York Giants on Sunday as they hope to get back on track against a struggling Giants team. Washington has lost six of its last eight matchups and coach Ron Rivera knows this week is a good chance for his team to find a win.

“It’s a chance to get ourselves on track and keep going,” Rivera said.

Even at 4-6, the Commanders are still in the NFC playoff race, and face a Giants team that has lost three in a row, and starting undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito once again. The Giants have some confidence heading into FedEx Field having beaten the Commanders back in Week 7.

“He’s an NFL, professional quarterback,” Commanders cornerback Kendall Fuller said when asked about facing DeVito. “Anybody out there can win a football game. That’s the mentality that we’re going with, and we’re going to need all 11 guys on the field to be able to stop their offense."

New York knows Washington won't overlook them, though.

“It's not like Washington's going to roll over just because we beat them the first time,” Giants right guard Ben Bredeson said. “Obviously, there were some things that worked, and there was definitely things that we need to improve on before going into the second matchup with them.”

The Giants will be facing a much different Commanders offense, as Washington is averaging 420 yards and almost 26 points per contest in the last three matchups.

“I feel like he’s grown just being able to control this offense, have success in the league and knowing what it takes to be a professional quarterback in this league," receiver Jahan Dotson said. "He’s trusting in us, trusting in the process, trusting in the offense and he’s leading us to put us in positions to win football games, and that’s really all you want in your quarterback.”

Seahawks edge rusher Boye Mafe has become the team's best pass rusher in just his second season. He's already matched a team record with a sack in six straight games.
