Tilman Fertitta Reveals Unsuccessful Commanders Bid to Dan Snyder

In this story:
The Washington Commanders are in limbo as Dan Snyder seeks a buyer for the franchise.
There's a few candidates to become the new owner, but we know one entrepreneur who won't end up as the new owner.
Houston Rockets governor Tilman Fertitta was among those interested in buying the Commanders from Snyder, but he is now out of the race after failing to reach the highest bid.
"I'll be flat out honest, I made a bid on the Washington Commanders for $5.6 billion," Fertitta said in an interview with CNBC. "That's the value that Forbes had them at, and at some point you've got to draw a line in the sand on everything and that's where we are. If they can get somebody to pay them more than that, good luck to them. That's all I can say. I own a franchise, so I love them selling for a lot. But at some point, I don't think $6 billion is the right number.
"Everybody that's watched me do business for the last 40 years knows when I draw a line in the sand, I'm done."
Fertitta may not think $6 billion is the right number, but two other buyers appear to disagree.
Philadelphia 76ers governor Josh Harris is leading a bid along with billionaire Mitchell Rales and Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson for that amount ... And so is Canadian billionaire Steve Apostolopoulos.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos also pulled out of the running, according to a report from Front Office Sports.
For now, Apostolpoulos and Harris should try jockeying for position and potentially increasing their bids slightly, but eventually, like Fertitta, they will each have to draw a line in the sand.
