Commanders CB Emmanuel Forbes Has 'Best Ball Skills,' Says Mississippi State Coach

In this story:
Many were surprised when the Washington Commanders selected Emmanuel Forbes with the No. 16 pick in the NFL Draft.
However, someone that wasn't all surprised was Mississippi State coach Zach Arnett.
"Mississippi State coach Zach Arnett considers Forbes an "interception machine" after watching him nab 14 picks over three years.
"The best ball skills I've seen as a coach," Arnett told ESPN.
Forbes is expected to be a big playmaker for a Commanders defense that is slated to play some of the best offenses in the NFL this upcoming season. There are also some of the best receivers in the game that should pose a strong challenge for Forbes in the NFC East for years to come.
"Washington expects some growing pains as Forbes learns to cover the likes of CeeDee Lamb and A.J. Brown twice per year. But the Commanders believe the long-term play will yield elite results," ESPN writes.
Forbes is incredibly talented and has a knack for turning the ball over, producing an NCAA-record six pick-sixes during his collegiate career. However, at the NFL level, players are bigger and faster, and Forbes clocks in as the third-lightest player in the league, weighing just 166 pounds.
Forbes may take some time to adjust to the speed of the NFL game and the size of the receivers he's facing, but Washington believes his intangibles will eventually translate and he can change many critics' minds.
