Jonathan Allen Reacts to Commanders New Owners: 'Not Making it About Them!'

In this story:
The Washington Commanders offseason news has been dominated by the sale of the team to a group headlined by Josh Harris. It brought an end to Dan Snyder's tenure, and the resulting explosion of happiness was felt around the sports world.
With the grind of training camp now taking its toll on everyone, the new owners, led by Harris, have made their presence felt at camp. But for Commanders defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, they have done a good job of sort of existing in the background.
“I think Mr. Harris and some of the others do a good job of just, you know, being out there but not making it about them," Allen said. "So, I mean, I didn't notice, but it's definitely cool seeing 'em out there.”
With a new feeling surrounding the entire organization, naturally, optimism is up, and training camp has seen its fair share of football conflict, which was highlighted by Benjamin St-Juste and Terry McLaurin's coming together.
After a day off, the players were back out in the grind of camp, and for coach Ron Rivera, he liked what he saw from the team after a less-than-perfect day prior.
“This was much better than the other day," Rivera said. "Really pleased with the work that we got in today. I thought their approach and the way they handled it was really good. There's some really good tape on all the periods, and we got an opportunity to really go through some situational football as well.”
There is a new vibe around Washington. New owners, a new offensive scheme with coordinator Eric Bieniemy, and an optimism of what the Commanders could amount to this season ... has the feel-good factor back.
And as far as the new owners go, they're simply enjoying sitting back from afar and watching the team go about their business, intent on blending into the background, not being front-page news - a huge change for the better from the previous administration.
