There were some interesting developments on the Thursday injury report for the Miami Dolphins Week 18 matchup against the New York Jets, and they involved each team.

For the Dolphins, linebacker Bradley Chubb (ankle/hand) and cornerback Xavien Howard (knee) both returned to practice, albeit in a limited capacity.

Raheem Mostert also was back at practice, listed for a second consecutive day with vet rest but this time working on a limited basis.

The one negative change on the injury report involved tackle Eric Fisher, who did not practice after being limited Wednesday. He was inactive the past three games with a calf injury.

QB Tua Tagovailoea (concussion) and T Terron Armstead (toe/pec/knee/hip) are among the four players who have not practiced this week, along with T Kendall Lamm (ankle) and WR Cedrick Wilson Jr. (hip).

Wilson's absence could force the Dolphins to use a different punt returner against the Jets, though special teams coordinator Danny Crossman declined to say Thursday morning who would be among the candidates.

From this end, the list of candidates would include River Cracraft, Jevon Holland, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

JETS INJURY REPORT

The Jets had only one change on their injury report Thursday, but it involved starting quarterback Mike White.

After being a full participant Wednesday despite a rib injury, White was listed as limited Thursday. Furthermore, White did not conduct his scheduled Thursday media session, according to ESPN reporter Rich Cimini.

If it turned out that White wasn't able to play against the Dolphins, the Jets would turn to veteran Joe Flacco or put 2021 second overall pick Zach Wilson into the lineup.

The same five players did not practice for a second consecutive day: T Duane Brown (shoulder), G Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (knee) and T George Fant (knee), who all started on the offensive line during the Jets' 23-6 loss at Seattle last Sunday, along with safety Lamarcus Joyner (hip) and cornerback Brandon Echols (quad).
