Tua's Brother Helps Him Reach Maui FundRaising Goal

In this story:
Very cool update on Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and his fundraising efforts for the Maui wildfire victims: The goal of $100,000 was reached early Morning evening and the donation that made that happen was made in the name of none other than Taulia Tagovailoa.
Now a redshirt senior at the University of Maryland, Taulia Tagovailoa made a donation for $1,000 with the message: "Sending alofa & prayers from Maryland to Maui. Love you my Hawaii!" That gave the fundraising total over $100,000 and it later surpassed $100,000.
Taulia was a second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2022 and he's on the Maxwell Award Watch List heading into this season.
His donation came after Tua posted an update and a message of gratitude Sunday night regarding his fundraising efforts.
"Mahalo everyone who has donated thus far," Tagovailoa wrote. "Let's continue to spread Aloha so we can help those affected by the devastating wildfires in Maui."
Mahalo everyone who has donated thus far. We’re more than 80% of the way to hitting our initial fundraising goal of $100,000. Let’s continue to spread Aloha so we can help those affected by the devastating wildfires in Maui. 🙏🏾https://t.co/26c0e6jzKk https://t.co/kzK2JKqDLT

Tua, who was born in Ewa Beach on the island of Oahu, indicated that the fundraising had topped 80 percent of its goal of $100,000, though as of Sunday night it actually was almost at $90,000 — $89,531, to be precise, thanks to more than 700 donations.
TUA STARTS FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
Shortly after the Dolphins' 19-3 loss against the Atlanta Falcons in their preseason opener Friday night, a game where Tua was among 34 players who were kept out, Tua posted a message on X asking for help.
"In the wake of the Maui wildfires, our community needs us more than ever," Tua wrote. "With the strength of our 'Ohana and the deep-rooted values of Aloha, let's lend a hand to those in need. 100% of donations will directly support those affected in Hawaii."
Tua signed it with "Alofa atu," which translates to "Love you."
TUA MAKES BIG DONATION
The death toll related to the wildfires was at 114 as of Sunday night and was expected to climb.
Tua not only organized the fundraising effort, he gave $20,000 and accompanied his donation with the message: "Sending love and prayers from Miami to Lahaina. #MauiStrong."
Donations are being accepted through the Tua Foundation and can be made using this link.
Among the first to donate, according to the fundraising page, was former Dolphins head coach Nick Saban, who obviously coached Tagovailoa at the University of Alabama, and his wife Terry.
Also donating was the Jason Taylor Foundation.
