Taco Charlton Showing Out With the Miami Dolphins

Taco Charlton, a first-round pick from the 2017 draft class, joined the Miami Dolphins just a month ago and already has three sacks. To put that in perspective, he had four sacks in 27 games with the Dallas Cowboys, the team that drafted him.
"Taco – the thing that Taco provides us some awareness, versatility on the edge and a big body," defensive coordinator Patrick Graham said. "He’s a smart guy that understands football, understands what they’re trying to do to him and it’s been fun to see him grow. Again, I told him I’ve been wanting to coach him since he was coming out in the draft, so I’m just happy to be around him and I’m going to coach him this week some more and see if we can get some more improvement.”
The Dolphins entered the 2019 season in need of players that can get to the quarterback. Charlton has stepped up in the form of four quarterback hits in four weeks and has played over 90 percent of the team's defensive snaps over the last two games.
Sunday has quickly turned into Taco Tuesday in Miami.

The Dolphins have only seven sacks on the season, tied with the New York Jets. Only the Falcons, with five sacks, have gotten to the quarterback less.
It is clear that the Miami Dolphins will need to find more players who can get to the quarterback via free agency or the draft, but Charlton is looking like a legitimate building block for the future.
