Eagles Lose Second LB in Two Days as Kyzir White Agrees to Deal with Cardinals

The starting weakside LB is reuniting with Jonathan Gannon in Arizona

It's one-and-done for Kyzir White and the Eagles.

Philadelphia lost its second off-ball linebacker in two days as White follows T.J. Edwards out the door with a two-year deal that could be worth up to $11 million with the Arizona Cardinals, according to Jordan Schultz of The Score.

The sixth-year pro will reunite with former Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, now the head coach of the Cardinals.

White, a Lehigh Valley native, spent the first four seasons of his career with the Chargers before signing a one-year deal with the Eagles where he settled in as the starter at weakside LB next to Edwards.

He ended up being a key component of the second-ranked defense in the NFL, playing all 20 games through the Super Bowl LVII loss to Kansas City.

In the regular season, White finished with 110 tackles - three for loss - with 1.5 sacks, three quarterback hits, five pressures, and seven passes defended while playing 76% of the defensive snaps.

White is the fourth starter the Eagles have lost over the first two days of free agency joining Edwards (Chicago), DT Javon Hargrave (San Francisco), and S Marcus Epps (Las Vegas).

DT Fletcher Cox, CB James Bradberry, and S C.J. Gardner-Johnson remain on the market.

Second-year LB Nakobe Dean, the Eagles' third-round pick in 2022, is expected to replace Edwards at Mike LB but there is no clear succession plan at Will.

Special teams standouts Shaun Bradley and Christian Elliss, as well as Davion Taylor, who has a history with new LB coach D.J. Eliot from their days together at Colorado, are the current in-house candidates.
