Eagles Ex Miles Sanders Gets Brutally Honest About Philly Exit: 'You Should Ask Them'

Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders still has a bad taste in his mouth toward Philly after posting just seven carries for 16 yards in the Super Bowl LVII loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Former Philadelphia Eagles running back and newly-acquainted Carolina Panther Miles Sanders made it clear this week during OTAs that he doesn't want to make headlines.

But his comments regarding his exit from Philly in free agency this offseason did exactly that.

“I can get into that another day, maybe,” Sanders said, per AP. “Maybe you should ask them why I’m moving here.”

Sanders signed a four-year, $25 million deal with the Panthers in March, making him the team's expected starter in the backfield alongside rookie quarterback Bryce Young, the No. 1 overall pick in April's draft. But he apparently still has a bad taste in his mouth toward Philly after posting just seven carries for 16 yards in the Super Bowl LVII loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

“Last game of the season? For all of the marbles? Everybody can answer that question,” Sanders said. “If they put themselves in my shoes, would they be happy? I don’t want to make headlines if it does, I don’t care.”

The lack of touches in the biggest game of the season was certainly a bit surprising considering Sanders finished with the fifth-most rushing yards during the regular season last year (1,269). However, it's possible his fumble out of bounds on the first play from scrimmage played a role in him becoming an afterthought on offense.

But despite his words, Sanders is ready to move on with his new endeavor in Carolina.

“This is going to give me more opportunities to help my team win, and that’s all I’m about,” he said.

The Panthers have an intriguing squad headlined by Young. They are likely still a few years away from contending for a title, meaning Sanders and Co. could have to watch as the Eagles aim for nothing less than an Lombardi Trophy next season.
