Eagles LOOK: Nakobe Dean Gets ‘Scarface’ Tattoo

Heading into his second season, Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean has gotten some fresh ink!

Philadelphia Eagles second-year linebacker Nakobe Dean has significantly changed his look this offseason by getting a massive new tattoo.

The piece features two tributes to Dean's Mississippi upbringing, a magnolia [the state flower of Mississippi] and a road sign that reads "Tunica County” [the name of his hometown] as well as a quote that reads, "The World Is Yours."

That quote was popularized in the 1983 Al Pacino classic gangster movie “Scarface” … long a favorite of NFL players

The Eagles drafted Dean out of Georgia in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, but he was used sparingly as a rookie. In his first year in Philly, Dean recorded only 13 combined tackles and started no games, but he can still carve out a significant role going forward.

As a prospect, Dean was one of the best linebackers ever. He's one of only three players who won the Butkus Award in college and high school. His senior season, Dean was a first-team Associated Press All-American and All-SEC selection after recording 72 tackles [10.5 of which went for loss], six sacks, two interceptions, one touchdown, six pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 15 starts en route to the Bulldogs becoming national champions.

Though he wasn't a significant factor during the Eagles Super Bowl run last season, his familiarity with being a pro, paired with the fact that Philly has continued to add his college teammates in recent drafts, could make him a leader in the near future, especially if he becomes the star he seemed fated to be.

Hopefully, Dean's tattoo will serve as a tribute to his hometown and a reminder of the player he was back then, the most dominant linebacker in the country. If Dean asserts himself as a top linebacker in the NFL, then the world will again be his.
