Jets Sign Aaron Rodgers' Friend Allen Lazard; Falcons Trade For WR Elijah Moore?

The Atlanta Falcons could be looking for some help at the wide receiver position this offseason. Could the answer be in New York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore?

The Atlanta Falcons hope to try to return to the playoffs in 2023.

With Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke manning the quarterback room, they'll need some receivers to throw to.

With Drake London and Kyle Pitts returning, and Jonnu Smith coming over from the New England Patriots, the next step is adding a wide receiver to the mix. That's why the Falcons could be interested in New York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore.

Moore, a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Ole Miss, requested a trade early in the season after a lack of playing time.

In response, the Jets have also signed Allen Lazard and appear to be linked to Randall Cobb with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers inching closer to moving to the Big Apple.

This season, Moore had 37 receptions for 446 yards, ranking behind Corey Davis, rookie Garrett Wilson and tight end Tyler Conklin. Moore is looking for a bigger role, one that the Falcons could provide.

However, there isn't a guarantee Moore would play more in Atlanta. He'd likely play behind London in a run-heavy offense. There's also a great chance the Falcons could take a receiver early in this year's draft. So while the opportunity is there on paper, it might not lead to more production and playing time, which is what Moore desires.

That being said, Moore provides a lot of youth and upside for a position group that doesn't have a whole lot of it. The Falcons could use Moore's speed on end arounds and screens, fulfilling a role that has yet to be solidified in the Atlanta offense by anyone currently on the roster.
