Another of John Harbaugh's Former Players Takes a Thinly Veiled Swipe at Ex-Head Coach

In this story:
John Harbaugh’s departure from Baltimore apparently has left more than one of his former players who remain with the Ravens not shedding any tears over how things ended.
Receiver Zay Flowers was among the first to criticize Harbaugh, now with the New York Giants, making his feelings known during a podcast appearance in April.
More recently, receiver Rashod Bateman aimed criticism at Harbaugh.
“From head coach to [offensive coordinator] to receivers coach, everybody really harps on the details and the small things,” Bateman said this week via the team’s official YouTube channel. “That’s just not what we were in our past.”
Bateman hasn’t had it easy since joining the Ravens as a first-round pick in the 2021 draft.
He missed five games in his rookie season with a groin/hernia injury. In 2022, he missed more than half of his season with a Lisfranc injury. He had a hamstring strain in 2023, and continued to miss time in 2024 and 2025 with assorted injuries, including a sprained knee and a high ankle sprain.
While his quote was a direct reference to the job done so far by Ravens' new head coach Jesse Minter, it was clear that the rest of his sentiments were aimed at the prior coaching staff led by Harbaugh, even though the head coach wasn’t mentioned by name.
A Case of Sour Grapes?

Given how Harbaugh has operated since being hired by the Giants in January, it’s clear he's exactly the type of head coach who harps on details—the same trait Bateman alleged was missing “in the past.”
The Giants head coach has been hands-on in every facet of building the roster to meet his vision, and it’s been said that, behind the scenes, he runs a very well-structured program right down to the smallest details.
But as is often the case when an old boss walks out the door, there will be employees that the boss left behind who find fault with the job done.
That appears to be the case here with Bateman, who, along with his teammates, made the postseason three consecutive years (2022-2024) during Bateman’s time in Baltimore with Harbaugh as the team’s head coach. and who are enjoying a "honeymoon" period with Minter and his assistant coaching staff.
