2023 NFL Draft: Tennessee Pass-Rusher Byron Young Visits Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are just a few weeks away from a pivotal NFL Draft weekend.
As April 27 draws closer, the Jaguars are doing their homework on this year's prospects to ensure they best utilize their nine draft picks. This week, it included a visit with Tennessee pass-rusher Byron Young, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

— #Tennessee DE Byron Young visited the #Seahawks and is with the #Jaguars today, source said. He has 11 Top 30 visits.
— #Texas LB DeMarvion Overshown visited the #Cowboys yesterday and has the #Dolphins, #Texans, #Falcons, #AZCardinals and #Broncos, as well.
Jacksonville had one of the highest pressure rates of any defense in 2022 but also registered just 35 sacks, good for the 26th most in the NFL. After losing pass-rusher Arden Key in free agency, it is clear that evaluating this year's pass-rusher class is critical for the Jaguars.
“I think we’ve got to improve our pass rush. I think that’s vital, particularly on third down,” Jaguars head coach Pederson said last week at the NFL's annual owners meetings.
"I thought we were good with the run, we just gotta continue to get better with the run and shore up some things there. I think the passing game is the area we have to look at and address in the offseason, and clean that part of it up."
A 2022 All-SEC selection, Young recorded seven sacks and 12 tackles for loss. In two seasons with the Volunteers, Young played in 24 games with 21 starts and recorded 83 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks and 22 quarterback hurries
The Jaguars hold the following nine selections in the 2023 NFL Draft:

- 2nd: No. 56
- 3rd: No. 88
- 4th: No. 121 (via TB), No. 127
