The New York Jets made a quarterback change for the final possession of the first half against the Miami Dolphins

After coming away empty-handed from their first five drives, starter Zach Wilson went into the locker room with 1:07 remaining in the second quarter. After the Dolphins jumped out to a 24-0 lead, the Jets sent veteran Trevor Siemian onto the field.

CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson said that the team sent Wilson inside early in the hopes of hydrating the beleaguered field general. Wilson was 4-of-11 passing for 26 yards in the first half. Miami sacked him four times, including a first-quarter strip that set up the game's first touchdown.

Siemian completed his first two pass attempts after entering, connecting with Allen Lazard and Breece Hall to move the chains. After subsequent back-to-back incompletions with the fresh set of downs, Siemian took a sack on third down.

The Jets netted four yards of offense and recorded four first downs in their scoreless first half. Following a donut last week over the first 30:00, New York erupted for three second-half touchdown drives to defeat Houston.

Jets' WR1 Garrett Wilson was not targeted once through the air in the first half.

The Jets received the second-half kickoff and Siemian was back at the controls. The team has since ruled Zach Wilson out for the remainder of the game due to a head injury.

New York lost defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson to a first-quarter hip injury. He is also out for the second half. Jets' free safety Tony Adams was evaluated for a head injury and cleared to return.
