New York Jets Set Two Meetings With Talented Alabama Prospect

The New York Jets continue meeting with draft prospects throughout this process and are welcoming in a talented player from Alabama.

With the NFL draft a little over one week away, the New York Jets are continuing their process of meeting with certain targets to decide who they'll take with their No. 10 overall pick.

It's imperative that they get this one right because they don't select again until the third round.

Because this draft is so loaded with offensive talent, many mock drafts out there have the Jets taking a skill position player in the first round, despite them having obvious needs on the offensive line.

They were tied for the third-most sacks allowed in 2023 with 64, and will now have Aaron Rodgers off Achilles surgery sitting behind that unit.

New York's front office seems to know they should do their due diligence on the top offensive lineman in this draft class as they are reportedly meeting with a talented prospect from Alabama.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jets will meet with offensive tackle JC Latham on Tuesday night and Wednesday. That will be the fourth team inside the Top 10 that he's met with, already having visited the Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, and Chicago Bears.

Latham is a 6'6", 342-pounder who left college after his junior season. He projects to be a Day One starter, having racked up impressive accolades when starting every game the past two years at Alabama.

He is coming off a second-team All-American selection and being first-team All Southeastern Conference.

The prospect has earned high marks throughout the draft process, with one NFC personnel executive telling NFL.com that he believes Latham will become the best offensive tackle out of this class.

New York certainly needs offensive line help, and if he can reach the potential that many are projecting for him, then this should be a player that the front office heavily considers drafting.
