Kerby Joseph: 'Free Jamo'

Detroit Lions safety posts support of his teammate Jameson Williams online.

Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph had a simple message he shared on social media regarding his teammate Jameson Williams.

"FREE JAMO," was the Twitter post Joseph shared with his near 19,000 followers.

Prior to the draft, the talented second-year wideout was suspended for six games, after it was discovered the league's gambling policy was violated.

"Jameson takes full responsibility for his actions and is very apologetic to the NFL, his teammates and the fans and city of Detroit," Alliance Sports posted, after Williams' suspension was reported.

C.J. Moore and Quintez Cephus were immediately dismissed from the Lions for reportedly betting on NFL games.

Stanley Berryhill was also suspended six games, but was recently released by the Lions. Williams and Berryhill did not bet on NFL games, but were betting on collegiate games at a location not authorized by the league.

"However, it is important to note that Jameson's violation was not for betting on football but rather due to a technical rule regarding the actual location in which the online bet was placed -- and which would otherwise be allowed by the NFL outside of the club's facility," the statement by Alliance Sports read. "Jameson would never intentionally jeopardize the integrity of the game he loves so much and looks forward to getting back to his team as soon as possible."
