Report: David Montgomery Will 'Miss Some Time' with Rib Injury

Lions running back David Montgomery left the Buccaneers game early.

It appears the Detroit Lions will be without running back David Montgomery, as his rib injury could keep him out of action for the foreseeable future.

According to the Free Press, "Another hit for the Lions, though nothing has slowed them yet. Sounds like Lions RB David Montgomery will miss some time with the rib injury he suffered yesterday."

After the veteran running back left the game, Detroit turned to Craig Reynolds and Devine Ozigbo.

Prior to the game, Zonovan Knight was placed on the injured reserve list, as he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury.

For Detroit, they have been able to weather the injury bug through the first six games of the season.

“If you want to be a good team in this league, you gotta win on the road, we know that, they understand that. I think they look forward to it, they really do," Dan Campbell said. "They love playing on the road, just something about it. And the fans that go on the road, I feel every game there’s more and more.”

Detroit has relied on several players that have been able to come in and play at a high level, as injuries have impacted both sides of the football.

“Everybody’s got a hand in this, they know that,” Campbell explained to reporters. “There’s nobody on this team that’s insignificant. If you’re going in the game, you’re helping us, you just don’t know who much it’s gonna come up.”

While the depth on the Lions' roster has improved, having players like first-round draft pick Jahmyr Gibbs return will aid the running game.

Gibbs has missed the past couple of weeks dealing with a hamstring injury.
