Packers Lack Muscle in Latest NFL Power Rankings

In this story:
GREEN BAY, Wis. – With the first practice on July 26, Green Bay Packers training camp will begin in 36 days. With the first game on Sept. 10, the Jordan Love era will kick off officially in 82 days.
So, a lot can change over the next two-and-a-half months, making NFL power rankings particularly irrelevant. Nonetheless, here are some of the latest rankings, followed by a snippet of more extensive analysis by clicking on the links.
It’s not just the trade of Aaron Rodgers. “Joe Barry is still the team’s defensive coordinator, and Rashan Gary is returning from a serious knee injury.”
“The Packers are a quality organization and you have to commend the front office for setting the team up for success in the post-Aaron Rodgers era.”
ESPN’s Football Power Index: 25th
The Packers’ PFI is the lowest in the NFC North.
With Jordan Love following in the footsteps of Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, “It’s fair to expect growing pains, folks.”
“Love won’t have to be perfect out of the gate and we shouldn’t expect him to, but he does have a good roster around him.”
PFF betting market-implied: 21st
Based on point spreads, the Packers, on average, are 1.2-point underdogs.
The last time the Packers replaced an iconic quarterback that played for the Lambeau faithful for more than a decade, they wound up with Aaron Rodgers. No pressure, Jordan.
“The NFC North is there for the taking and Love is just the guy to do it.”
The Packers’ Super Bowl championship odds at DraftKings Sportsbook are +6500. That’s the longest of the national sportsbooks and tied for 20th overall. So, if you feel like betting on the Packers to bring the Lombardi Trophy home to Green Bay, this is the most profitable option.
At DraftKings, open a new account, bet $5 and get $200 in bonus bets.
“The Packers did not make many moves during free agency while trading away their starting quarterback and losing a large chunk of their receiving corps. The team has a lot of targets to replace on offense, so [tight end Luke] Musgrave is a solid addition, as is wide receiver Jayden Reed.”
