NFL Draft Bible Projects Carolina Selecting a WR & OL in Latest 3-Round Mock

A little help for the Panthers' offense couldn't hurt.

The GM position is filled, the head coach is hired, and the rest of the coaching staff is starting to come together. Up next on the offseason docket will be free agency and the draft - two things that Carolina Panthers must ace if they want to successfully make a hard turnaround in 2024.

The Panthers, of course, don't own a first-round pick in this year's draft thanks to the trade with Chicago, so that puts all the more pressure on getting the 33rd overall pick right.

The second round has not treated Carolina all that well in recent years with wide receivers Terrace Marshall Jr. and Jonathan Mingo failing to live up to expectations early in their respective careers while defensive back Jeremy Chinn could be on his way out after seeing a major reduction in playing time in 2023.

So, where will the Panthers go with their first two picks of this year's draft? According to Luke Easterling of the NFL Draft Bible on FanNation/Sports Illustrated, they will select:

No. 33 - WR Adonai Mitchell, Texas

Mitchell began his career at Georgia buried on the depth chart before transferring to Texas in 2023. In his lone season with the Longhorns, Mitchell became one of the top pass catchers in the country, hauling in 55 receptions for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns.

No. 65 - OL Dominick Puni, Kansas

Began his career at Central Missouri before making the jump up to Power Five football. He appeared in and started 22 games over two years at left tackle for the Jayhawks and was featured on the All-Big 12 First Team in 2023.
