Rams Star Rookie Praises Raiders' Adams

Los Angeles Rams rookie receiver Puka Nacua had lots of good things to say about Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams.

Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams is coming off another impressive season.

He caught 103 passes for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns, his fourth straight season of 1,000 receiving yards or more and his fifth in the last six seasons.

Not only does Adams dominate defensive backs and destroy defensive game plans every week, but he also inspires younger wide receivers to follow in his footsteps as a route runner and an overall receiver.

That includes Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua, who had an out-of-nowhere rookie season where he posted 1,486 receiving yards. Nacua looks up to Adams and his ability to win off the line of scrimmage.

Nacua joined Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby on the latest episode of his podcast, "The Rush with Maxx Crosby," and had good things to say about Adams.

“17, it’s unreal,” he said. “Flawless; being able to watch [Cooper Kupp], I think of Coop like a true slot guy, but he can do both. Then you see 17, where he’s out there on the outside. You can put him anywhere, and the same pattern movements transition so flawless. It looks so smooth. When you say art in the form of route running, it’s number 17. That’s what he is.”

Nacua then described what he enjoyed most about watching Adams.

“My favorite thing when I watch Davante Adams is the efficiency of somebody that works," he said. "I look at myself from the beginning of the season to the end of the season, where it’s like, ‘Man, I thought I improved so much.’ Where it’s like, ‘I’m going to beat you, and it’s going to take the least amount of energy to beat you, but it’s going to look absolutely beautiful.’” Let me get an iso cam on this guy.”

Crosby chimed in, echoing Nacua’s sentiment about his teammate.

“That’s the thing about Tae, the efficient movement,” he said. “He never looks like he’s breaking; he’s at one speed the whole time. He’s in flow state at all times, and it’s so sudden. He wears the black visor, too. He’s darting around the field. He’s special to watch, bro. It’s insane.”

Adams hopes to build on a strong 2023 campaign next season.
