The Las Vegas Raiders are on an extended losing streak for the second consecutive season. After losing 10 games in a row at one point last season, the Raiders are well on their way to matching that total again this season. Despite all the changes made over the offseason, the Raiders have struggled.

Las Vegas' past two seasons have been marred by a slew of injuries to some of its best players. Although the Raiders need vast improvement from the top down, few teams can afford the number of injuries Las Vegas has sustained over the past two seasons. Still, the Raiders must improve.

Raiders' Injury Report

The Raiders will face Maxx Crosby, and Jeremy Chinn did not participate in Wednesday's practice. Tyler Lockett and Kolton Miller were limited on Wednesday. Geno Smith, Ian Thomas, Jordan Meredith, and Alex Backman were listed on Wednesday's injury report as full participants.

On Wednesday, Raiders Head Coach Pete Carroll explained how formidable of a team the Houston Texans are. The Raiders will need to be as close to healthy as possible, as the Texans are on a roll. Houston has won six games in a row. Las Vegas has lost eight games in a row.

"They're really good, first off, and they're playing great. Meco's [DeMeco Ryans] got those guys humming, and it's the style of D that we recognize really clearly. They're doing it really well, and they're really active,” Carroll said.

“They have playmakers at all their spots, particularly the edge guys jump out, but it's guys in the middle of the defense too. The linebackers and the safeties are really active and really creative and all that. As far as us, we have to get movement on the line of scrimmage. We got to move the inside guys."

“The edge guys are going to be crashing down the whole time. We've got to make sure that we're doing a good job of keeping them from owning the game, because they do sometimes, but we got to get moving inside and make sure that we can make some space for our guys," Carroll said.

On Wednesday, quarterback Geno Smith explained how challenging the Texans' defense is. The Raiders' offense must be prepared.

"They're fast, physical, they play well. Obviously statistically they're top of the league, number one in pretty much every category. But they play connected, they're not very complex in terms of scheme, but they've guys,” Smith said.

“They've got guys up front, they've got guys in the back end, and they got really good linebackers. And so, they play together. DeMeco [Ryans] does a great job at making sure guys are playing sound, understanding their assignments, and they just play as a unit and they all fly to the ball."
