Raiders Round Out Training Camp, Prepare To Move Forward

The Las Vegas Raiders held their final training camp practice of the 2026 season at Allegiant Stadium on Tuesday night. The Raiders opened the stadium to fans to showcase the progress made on the field after a number of solid roster moves.

The Raiders hope to be consistently competitive sooner rather than later. Below are a few notes from Las Vegas' 11th and final training camp practice of the season. The Raiders are two days away from their first exhibition game under head coach Klint Kubiak.

The Importance of Raiders' Final Training Camp Practice

The Raiders took the field at Allegiant Tuesday evening in front of Raiders fans. It was an affordable opportunity for fans to connect with a largely new-look roster that the Raiders will debut this season. Tuesday was another step closer to a season that has begun garnering cautious optimism.

It was an unpadded practice for Las Vegas, yet they showed enough to give an idea of what to expect moving forward. It also gave the Raiders a chance to get some work done on their home field, which differs from the practice fields at the team's headquarters.

“Tonight's really important. Really excited about going and being in front of our fans, being on the grass that we're going to play on. Coaches communicating with the headsets; really important for the whole operation,” Kubiak said earlier on Tuesday before practice.

“Obviously, it's my first game in there. Played a few games on the other side of the stadium, but it'll be really important for players and coaches to get familiar with our surroundings so that we can play our best football on Thursday night."

Kubiak Makes It Clear

With Tuesday's practice out of the way, Las Vegas will take Wednesday off before returning to Allegiant Stadium for their first preseason game on Thursday to face the Arizona Cardinals.

Las Vegas is implementing a whole new offensive and defensive scheme, with a new head coach, coordinators, and players at critical positions. They have practiced against each other enough. They need additional work against a different team to truly improve. Kubiak explained his plan for Thursday.

"We do have a plan for those guys and how many snaps or series we'd like to see them go. No need for everyone else to know it, but we're going to have a lot of guys playing this game. We need to evaluate the whole roster,” Kubiak said ahead of Tuesday night's open practice.

"I think it's really important that our guys have the same attitude we've asked them to have all camp – have a team-first attitude and have shocking effort. That's what we're looking for, looking for competitive guys. And one thing that we've really stressed is, especially for our young guys, of using special teams as their avenue to make the team. So, we're going to be evaluating those reps very critically."

Kubiak has made it clear that Las Vegas' starters will play against the Cardinals. Regardless of how much they do or do not play, it is fair to assume that progress will be made. The Raiders have about another month's worth of practices and preseason games before the first regular-season game.

The Raiders will now enter the preseason looking to take the next step in their progression under Kubiak ahead of his first regular season as a head coach. Progress has been made, but even Kubiak would agree that much more must be done in the next few weeks before they face the Miami Dolphins.

It must be remembered that much of the progress the Raiders and other teams hope to make cannot be made until everything is going at full speed. That means it will likely take a few weeks into the regular season to get an idea of what the Raiders will be this season.

Based on what they showed during training camp, it is fair to expect they will be better than in the past two seasons. That is, assuming they stay relatively healthy. Kubiak's coaching staff has begun changing the culture in Las Vegas. They hope additional wins will follow.
