Ravens Should Sign DeAndre Hopkins to Join Lamar Jackson & OBJ?

DeAndre Hopkins is now a free agent. Could the Baltimore Ravens add him to their receiver corps?

The NFL world is scrambling after the Arizona Cardinals cut veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Now, the former Pro Bowl receiver is looking for a new home.

Among the teams that could be interested in Hopkins is the Baltimore Ravens, who seem to always be in the market for a new receiver. After a dominant 2020 season where he posted 1,407 yards, Hopkins has recorded just 1,289 yards in the last two seasons combined. However, he only played in 10 games in 2021 and was limited to nine in 2022 due to suspension and injury.

During a recent appearance on the I AM ATHLETE podcast, Hopkins was asked about which quarterback he'd love to join up with. The All-Pro listed five names: The Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen, the Philadelphia Eagles' Jalen Hurts, the Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, the Los Angeles Chargers' Justin Herbert and Jackson got the top-five nod.

He also gave particular praise to Jackson while appearing on the podcast.

"I love Lamar Jackson," he said. "Lamar Jackson's one of my favorite athletes since I've been watching sports. I'm a sports fan, so I was watching Lamar when he played Clemson ... and I was like, 'Who is this kid?' I've been a fan of Lamar for a long time. Obviously, he's one of the greats. I would be lying to sit here and say it wouldn't be an honor one day, if my career allows me to play that long, to play with a great guy and a great quarterback like Lamar."

Even though Baltimore has signed Odell Beckham Jr. and drafted Zay Flowers this offseason, it wouldn't hurt the Ravens to bring aboard another talented weapon for Lamar Jackson to throw to.
