Ravens Scout 49ers QB Brock Purdy: 'He's Playing Winning Football!'

The Baltimore Ravens face Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers in what is a true heavyweight clash at Levi's Stadium.

The Baltimore Ravens take on perhaps one of the best teams in football, the San Francisco 49ers on Christmas Day. The game will pit two No. 1 seeds against each other in what will surely be a bruising contest.

The 49ers have a host of attacking weapons in Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk, but for some reason, Brock Purdy escapes the attention.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh knows how good Brock Purdy is playing right now and how important it is to stop him.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh knows how good Brock Purdy is playing right now and how important it is to stop him.

For some, Purdy is leading the MVP conversation, while for others, he is a product of the weapons around him and as such, uses that as a way to discount his candidacy.

But Ravens head coach John Harbaugh knows how good Purdy is playing right now.

"I see a very good quarterback who's playing at a very high level, leading a very high-level offense to great success," Harbaugh said. "He's playing winning football and operates in his style. He sees things, gets a ball out quick, makes every throw, he throws a beautiful ball, moves around the pocket, scrambles, throws on a run when he needs to, and operates the system really well. All the things that I'm sure their coaches really want to see in a quarterback I'm sure he's doing really well."

The 49ers have a stranglehold on the No. 1 seed in the NFC and the play of Purdy is a reason why. He has thrown for 3,795 yards, 29 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions while completing 69.8 percent of his passes and leads most key categories as well.

So while some point to all the weapons at his disposal, Purdy still has to make it work, and through 14 weeks, he has done that to a high level.

Mike Macdonald's first-ranked defense for points allowed (16.1p/g) is going to have its work cut out to halt this 49ers juggernaut. In their last seven games, the 49ers have had no less than 377 total yards of offense as they have been rolling.

Some fixate on the incredible weapons the 49ers have on offense, but the guy pulling the strings is just as important and if the Ravens are to get their 12th win of the season, it will start by making life uncomfortable for No. 13.
