The 2023 NFL Draft is now just days away which means trade talks are heating up. And with the current state of affairs between the Baltimore Ravens and quarterback-not-quarterback Lamar Jackson, rumors are swirling about the possibility of someone other than Jackson under center for the Ravens in 2023.

And now, reports are that the San Francisco 49ers may be ready to move on from former No. 3 overall pick, quarterback Trey Lance. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, San Francisco has been fielding calls about a potential trade for Lance.

Rapoport does not mention any specific teams in his report and notes that a trade doesn't seem imminent, but the 49ers have made it clear that Brock Purdy is the favorite to regain the starting role when he recovers from injury. Could that open the door for the Ravens to acquire Lance?

At the annual league meeting last month, both head coach Kyle Shanahan and GM John Lynch indicated they would listen to potential proposals for Lance.

The problem is Lance, 22, has started just four NFL games, is coming off an injury and as the former No. 3 overall pick, is teetering toward "bust.''

Lance has appeared in eight games with four starts over his young career, completing 55 percent of his passes for 797 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions. He’s also rushed for 54 yards with a TD.

While a trade for Lance between the Niners and Ravens is unlikely, time is running out for Baltimore to settle the imbroglio it's currently experiencing with regard to its quarterback position.

Reports were that the signing of Pro Bowl wideout Odell Beckham Jr. would tilt the tables toward Jackson signing his non-exclusive franchise tag and end the stalemate.

But the two sides seem no closer to peace than they were before the Beckham signing.
