Ravens WATCH: QB Tyler Huntley 'Pro Bowl Games' Passing; 'I Love the Guy! - Mark Andrews

Ravens backup QB Tyler Huntley finished second among five other quarterbacks in the precision passing drill at the Pro Bowl Games.

There was some eye-rolling when Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Tyler Huntley was named to the Pro Bowl Games.

Granted, Huntley only got the nod after Bills quarterback Josh Allen opted out because of an injury.

However, Huntley justified his selection by finishing second among five other quarterbacks in the "precision passing drill'' portion of the Games'' on Thursday.

Huntley scored 21 points, second only to the Raiders' Derek Carr, who finished first with 31 points.

Huntley hit six of seven targets in the drill. He nearly threw a 60-yard pass into the bucket, but the pass bounced off the rim.

The overall standings in the competition were:

1. Carr (Raiders) – 31 points

2. Huntley (Ravens)– 21 points

3. Jared Goff (Lions) – 21 points

4. Geno Smith (Seahawks) – 20 points

5. Trevor Lawrence (Jaguars)– 19 points

6. Kirk Cousins (Vikings) – 14 points

Huntley is only the third Ravens quarterback in franchise history to make the Pro Bowl, joining Jackson (2019) and Vinny Testaverde (1996).

Huntley was called into action this season in Week 13 when starter Lamar Jackson was sidelined with a knee injury. Huntley threw for 658 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions over six games.

Those stats made him an unlikely candidate for the Pro Bowl Games.

In the AFC Wild Card playoff game against the Bengals, Huntley fumbled trying to extend the ball into the end zone at the Cincinnati 2-yard line in the fourth quarter. Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard recovered the fumble and ran 98 yards for the score and a 24-17 win.

"He’s just going to continue to learn and get better and better. I love that guy,” Ravens tight end Mark Andrews said.

Huntley is an exclusive rights-free agent this offseason, meaning players with less than three years of service time in the league. Once tendered, these players' contracts are fully under the team’s control and the players are not free to negotiate with other teams.
