Now roughly two months into the offseason, most NFL free agents have already signed new contracts. However, there are a few quality players still on the market, including former Green Bay Packers safety Adrian Amos.

Amos, 30, has been the definition of reliable throughout his career. In eight NFL seasons, split evenly between the Packers and Chicago Bears, Amos has only missed four games out of 130. Although he has yet to make the Pro Bowl, he has always been a solid player. In 2022, he recorded 102 tackles, five passes defended and an interception for Green Bay.

Despite his consistently strong play, Amos currently remains a free agent. There are teams still interested in him, though, including his hometown team, the Baltimore Ravens. Amos visited the Ravens in late March, and despite not landing a deal then, there is still interest between the two sides.

"Veteran free-agent safety Adrian Amos visited the Ravens over six weeks ago, and there still appears to be mutual interest," writes Jeff Zrebic of The Athletic. "Amos is a Baltimore native who grew up idolizing Ravens Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed, so a homecoming to play on a high-quality defense would seemingly have some appeal."

The Ravens appear to be well-off at safety, with Marcus Williams still thriving and 2022 first-round pick stepping in for the departed Chuck Clark. However, Amos could still be a valuable addition to Baltimore's defense. With him in the fold, the Ravens could use their safeties in much more varying ways than they currently can.

However, Zrebic also adds that returning to Green Bay is also an option for Amos. The Packers have a more-apparent need at the position, meaning Amos could play a bigger role with them. Not having to move once again could also be a point in the Packers' favor.

It's worth noting that the Ravens went through a similar process with cornerback Rock Ya-Sin. The former Las Vegas Raiders corner visited the Ravens in March, but didn't sign with the team until May. Perhaps Amos could do the same in a homecoming move of sorts.
