In this story:

Mel Kiper Jr. has, for 40-plus years, been considered one of the best (if not more prominent) draft experts and analysts on television. As with the rest of them, he's had his hits and misses.

He famously stated before the 2010 NFL Draft that he'd retire if Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen didn't make it in the NFL, asking for eight years.

Clausen's eight-year grace period ended five years ago, and Kiper is still here.

Kiper, it seems, is at it again, after Todd McShay's latest mock draft, where he had the Baltimore Ravens selecting Texas running back Bijan Robinson with their first-round pick.

In fact, he jokingly threatened to retire if the Ravens do draft the Longhorns running back.

“There’s no way you didn’t put Bijan Robinson just to aggravate me and Ravens fans,” Kiper said. “If you’re right on this one, I will retire, I can guarantee you that.”

Although, it's tough to argue against his point. Running back is far from the biggest need for the Ravens, who as of today have just one quarterback under contract for 2022, and that's practice-squader Anthony Brown.

Aside from quarterback, wide receiver is a big need, as the team lacks a bonafide star No. 1 receiver for Lamar Jackson, as tight end Mark Andrews has been getting most of the grabs due to a deficiency at the wideout position.

While most will agree with Kiper Jr., it will be interesting to see what his reaction is if Baltimore does select Robinson at No. 23.
